Kidnap a Professional Chef for a Day

The beauty of “kidnapping” a professional chef is the sheer range of gastronomic possibilities that you now have at your fingertips.Looking to pamper yourself and friends with an at-home fine dining experience? Or, maybe you’re a creative chef and you’re looking to try new foods or have had a problem with a particular dish? Forget those big busy cooking classes or restaurants! You can’t beat this tailor-made exclusive experience!

This event is catered completely to you and your specific needs.

Through this chef of your own, you could either engage in a private cooking classes where you enjoy the fruits of your labour after class OR you can create a luxurious evening where the chef prepares the entire meal in your kitchen for an at-home fine dining experience.

Being a spontaneous and innovative but completely unprofessional chef in the kitchen, I was absolutely excited when my best friend gave me the gift of my own chef for an evening.

Enthralled by all the possibilities, I discussed my gastronimic interests and desires with my chef-to-be on the phone a week before our selected evening. On his toes on the phone, just as he would be in the kitchen, he made a few menu suggestions and we took it from there. He even suggested a wine or beer which would match our menu.

A few days later, the chef provided me with an ingredients list to pick up for the big evening. In the “chef of your own” experience, you need to purchase the food ahead of time and it is not covered with the service.

The icing on the cake was that not only did the chef prepare a fantastic five course dinner for/with you, but as he served the meal to you and your guests, he presented each dish with a brief descriptive overview of its purpose in the meal.

I had an excellent evening full of gastronomic adventure and education. Should you be interested in trying this out, ask your favourite local chef, look in the yellow pages or contact the adventurous and very creative chef that I had the pleasure to kidnap that evening : Caleb Rowe, Professional Chef, Email : rowe.caleb@gmail.com, Telephone : (905) 275-3568.
