  • Chili Roasted GrassHoppers – Didn’t Dare (Street Vendors, Oaxaca, Mexico)
  • Live Lemon-tasting Ants – Acidy (Amazon Jungle, Ecuador)

  • Roasted Guinea Pig – Not much meat, lots of work to eat (Ecuador)
  • Deer Hart – Tasty! (Cuzco, Peru)
  • Beef Tongue – Tasty and incredibly tender, good with mustard (Quito, Ecuador)
  • Asia

    • Fried Silk Worms – Definitely did not go there, supposedly tastes like popcorn (South Korean Street Food)
    • Sweet & Sour Chicken Feet – Tasty, not much meat (Dimsum, Hong Kong, China — Can have it in Toronto!)
    • Duck Tongue – Nice flavour, very lean, not much meat (Dimsum, Hong Kong, China — Can have it in Toronto!)
    • Turtle Pudding – Not very tasty at all. It is very bitter, so maple sugar is served with it. Supposedly provides “long life” health benefits. (Hong Kong, China)
    • Jellyfish – Crunchy! Not very flavourful, needs to be served with sauce. (Hong Kong, China)
    • Snake Soup – The snake was hard to taste as it was minced, but the soup was delish. (Hong Kong, China)
    • Live Baby Octopus – No thanks, this is another food to eat if you like to live on the edge as you must chew it to death before swallowing it, otherwise its tentacles can expand in your throat and choke you (South Korea)


  • Dog – Didn’t go there (Dog Restaurants, Seoul, South Korea)
  • Fugue / PufferFish, very dangerous and expensive as The Simpson featured in one of their episode – Have not yet tried (Japan)
  • Green Tea Ice Cream – Delish (Japan)
  • BBQ’d Tarantula Spider Legs – My brother saw them (Street Vendors, Cambodia)

  • Canada, U.S. & the Carribbean

    • Poutine (Fries with melted cheese curds & gravy) – Delish & heavy on the grease (Quebec, Canada)
    • Deer – Wild taste, very tender & delicious (Canada)
    • Moose – Wild taste, a little too tough to chew (Canada)
    • Buffalo & Caribou – Slightly wild taste, not so different from Beef (Canada)
    • Bull Frog Legs – Tasty (Buffet Restaurant, Quebec (French Region), Canada)
    • Farmed Turtle – Very fishy, I didn’t like it (Champions II Restaurant in Grand Cayman)

    Africa

     

    • Ostrich, Crocodile, Zebra, Eland and Hartebeest (African Deer) – Delish, I liked the ostrich and croc best (Kenya, East Africa at Carnivore BBQ Restaurant

    Europe

    • Fondu Cheese Bagette – Too much cheese for me, fondue cheese is filled then poured into a hollow bagette crust (Street food, Appenzell, Switzerland)
    • Raclette – Yum, more crazy cheese dishes… this is a block of cheese, melted slowly at your table and as it melts, you scrape the melted cheese onto potatoes (Switzerland)
    • Horse Cold Cuts – Lean, no specific flavour (House Party, Switzerland)
    • Cold Cherry Soup – Not bad, very sweet & pink (Switzerland)
    • Blood Orange – Very very tangy delicious fruit, looks strange because it is an orange with a lot of red inside. Appearance is very true to its name. (Switzerland)
    • Tripe (Stomach) Soup – Not a big fan of tripe on its own, but this dish is delicious (Poland)
    • Curry Ketchup – So delicious, not too spicy (Bavaria, Germany)
    • Bologna, Corn and Peas Pizza – This group of ingredients didn’t do it for me (So many different types of pizzas available, Venice, Italy)
    • Breaded & Fried Cheese on a Kaiser – Tasty but it is heavy on the grease and fat (Street Food, Prague, Czech Republic)
